I was struggling with my gender identity at the time I saw a Facebook post about Kenza. It was a competition for a photo shoot. Just coming out as a trans man I wanted to do something for the girl that had kept me safe for over 40 years. Don’t get me wrong I rescheduled a few times as the nerves kicked, but I had nothing to worry about. Karen was amazing and nonjudgmental when I explained my story. Being able to honour my past self was an emotional and beautiful experience. They are photos I will treasure. If you are thinking about having a shoot just do it, you won’t regret it.
